Cookies

What Keyring keeps on your device, and why you aren’t asked to agree to it.

In short

Keyring sets cookies only to sign you in, and remembers a light or dark theme only if you choose one. It uses no advertising or tracking cookies. It counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and the website loads no scripts from other companies’ websites, so there is nothing to agree to.

The dots in each name stand for the name of Keyring’s database. A long sign-in can be split into numbered parts with the same name.

What Keyring doesn’t use

  • No analytics cookies and no tracking of what you click. Keyring counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn’t identify you or follow you to other websites.
  • No advertising, and no tracking across other websites.
  • No buttons or scripts from social networks or other companies. Keyring’s typeface is served by Keyring itself.

Why you aren’t asked

The law lets a website store what is strictly necessary for a service you’ve asked for without asking first, and remember how you want it to look as long as it tells you and lets you say no. Keyring’s sign-in cookies are strictly necessary: without them you couldn’t stay signed in. The theme is stored only when you pick one, and this page tells you how to remove it.

If Keyring ever wants to use anything else, it will ask you first. The privacy notice explains how Keyring uses information about you.

Controlling them

You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. If you block Keyring’s sign-in cookies, you won’t be able to sign in.

To stop Keyring remembering a theme on this device, choose “Match my device” here:
